About us

One early September morning a long time ago (but not that long), we stood on the streets of Lund, Sweden, looking at the hallowed Raoul Wallenberg Institute.

Some contemplated the past that inspired its creation; others tried in vain to imagine what would come of our time studying there. The Swedes in the group were thinking “It’s getting quite cold, why are we all standing around like this staring at a building?” Nearly all of us were wondering “What’s Swedish for ‘beer’?”

So, flung from the further corners of the world, we met on this small street in Skåne and with one unified voice turned to… the pub.

That’s pretty much the tale of how we met, and our mutual admiration grew from there. While swilling coffees and beers in the many cafés and bars of Lund, we learnt so much about the world by sharing tales of home and of developments within our cultures. Why should those conversations stop just because we’re now scattered across the globe? We’ve continued to learn and grow and challenge each other from our professions and interests, and we appreciate the importance of continuing to share information and opinions on the current events that affect us. Even more, we know we must continue to speak up, continue to be heard. Because it’s only by voicing our concerns that we can hope for change. So we do. And we should never stop.
